Garden Space

In our state-of-the-art garden classroom supported by two greenhouses and a school garden, all levels of learners at The Delta School participate in the school garden initiative. The school garden teaches students essential life skills and supports academic learning through hands-on classes in an organic garden.

Students use the garden to learn topics such as photosynthesis, weather patterns, biology, earth science, horticulture, consumer economics and nutrition.

Our school garden program provides a laboratory for experiential learning to complement the standard school curriculum in all disciplines. As well, it contributes to the intellectual, psychological, vocational, and physical development of students through enhanced learning methods. Our garden program is established to increase parent and community involvement in the school and transfer skills to home and community.

We garden using natural and sustainable gardening practices such as composting, and low-cost, natural pest controls.
