On Mrs. Brown's very first day of teaching, she was a very "green" 22 year old teacher and had just been hired the week before school started. On that first day she wore a light blue collared top with a khaki skirt. Nobody had told her what the students' uniforms were and to her dismay, the students were wearing light blue polos with khaki pants/shorts. She was mistaken as a student! That story is hilarious now, especially because The Delta School's small size means that we take pride in knowing each student and member of the staff personally.
Mrs. Brown loves The Delta School because everyone is given the freedom to learn and explore real-world applications and problems in fun and applicable ways. As a community we value each others ideas and opinions and encourage each other to help students learn through hands-on experiences that are not the "traditional" way of learning.
