Giving

In order to provide unique learning experiences for our students, we rely on charitable donations from individuals, families, businesses, and corporations. Gifts to The Delta School can be made in a variety of ways, to either meet immediate needs or leave a lasting legacy.

CASH

Tax-deductible contributions can be made via cash, check, electronic funds transfer, or payroll deductions. Before making a cash donation, please check with your employer as some corporations provide matching gifts for employee donations.

GIFTS IN KIND

Rather than cash, goods and services can be provided directly to The Delta School. Please check with the Development Office for a wish list of items and services to fulfill immediate needs or requests for the near future.

Goods

Tangible items may include equipment, electronics, books, classroom supplies, furniture, and event or program necessities such as food, decor, advertising and print materials.

Professional services

Please contact your accountant first to find out if your expenses incurred for pro bono work are tax deductible.

PLANNED GIVING

Also called legacy gifts or deferred gifts, vehicles for planned giving allow you to leave significant contributions to The Delta School. Please consider The Delta School when discussing estate planning with your attorney. Not only will your donation positively impact the education of area youth, but it may also provide tax benefits.

 

Bequests

Bequests are typically cash gifts provided by wills or trusts.

Real Estate

The direct gift of real estate—residential or investment—can offer tax advantages for the donor while supporting the mission of The Delta School.

Appreciated Securities

Gifts of long-term appreciated securities offer multiple tax savings. Before making a stock transfer, please contact us as we would appreciate knowing the name and number of shares you are gifting so we may ensure accurate and timely processing.

Personal Property

Personal property—such as jewelry, artwork, collectibles, vehicles, boats, and planes— may provide a tax deduction for fair market value based on appraisal.

Life Insurance & Retirement Accounts

The Delta School can be named as a beneficiary and/or owner of a life insurance policy or retirement account.

Charitable Trusts

Charitable remainder trusts enable donors to name The Delta School as remainder beneficiary, while charitable lead trusts allow for a portion of trust payments to be donated to The Delta School, with the principal returning to donors or heirs.
